Pizza night has always been a family favorite around here. It is so easy when the chaos of the week catches up with you. It is also great for leftovers for the next day or two! The only problem I had with it was the price! I swear back in the day pizza was one of the cheaper alternatives for eating out. Now we go and grab two pizzas for the family and it’s 50 bucks. Our biggest issue is the difference in topping preference. We all like completely different pizzas therefore either someone is settling or we are buying a couple of different pizzas.
Enter, the now internet-famous, two-ingredient dough!
Although the recipe varies depending on who you are reading it from, it’s all basically the same. 0% Plain Greek Yogurt + Self Rising Flour = Crowd pleaser extraordinaire!
We use this dough to make our own pizza night parties for a fraction of the cost of ANY pizza chain. Not only are they cheaper but they also are made to order so that everyone is happy with the pizza they get. Last but not least, they are healthier than standard dough so you don’t have the same guilt and sluggish feeling after eating it that some of us have after eating greasy parlor pizza.
The dough can be a little difficult to work with so I will show you step by step how to mix it to create the perfect consistency every time.
Create your own family pizza night any day of the week with this EASY recipe of pantry staples! Let the kids be part of the creation so that everyone is happy with what's for dinner. We love to make extra so that we have easy lunches for the next day or two!
Although I love my Silmats for general baking, I use parchment paper for these since they need to be cut on the pan. The first time I made these I used my Silmats and the pizza slicer cut straight through them all. #Sadness!
Tips and Tricks
I have heard several people say they have had difficulties getting the dough to form without it becoming a sticky mess. below I will post two videos that will hopefully help you get the perfect batch every time.
First, start by folding the yogurt into the dry ingredients. Then fold with your hands, using extra flour as needed.
Once mixed, you can use a rolling pin if you would like or just use some good old-fashioned elbow grease!
I hope your family enjoys this recipe as much as mine does!
If you take the time to scroll through my blog you will notice I am a HUGE fan of 2-Ingredient Dough. I have adapted it into a staple for numerous different uses. A few of my favorites include BBQ Flatbread, Pan-fried Flatbread, Sandwich/Hamburger rolls, Bagels, Garlic Bombs, and Breakfast Pockets.
