About

Hello! My name is Katie. I am a wife and mother of 2. Aside from my family, there are two things I love to do. Save money and Spend the money! To most people, these two things do not go hand in hand however, to me, THEY DO!

Over the last 10 years, I have made it almost a game to see how I could pinch pennies in some areas to be able to spend them in others. Some of this required good old sweat and hard work and some took simple research and planning.

People often ask me how my husband and I are able to do so many projects around the house and go on so many awesome trips. Over the years we have worked hard on developing our careers to enable us to afford some luxury but for the most part, it is due to our penny-pinching in our day-to-day.

This blog’s intent is to show you some of my ways of doing more with less. With the right amount of planning, you can do projects you never dreamed of. The internet is a valuable resource for the DIY generation.

With sports, school, and work schedules it’s hard to stay in front of the 8 ball when it comes to meals. All of a sudden it is 7:30 pm and you find yourself just driving home from soccer wondering what mom’s going to cook for dinner. Then it hits you, you are mom, and you have no idea. I have been there more times than I can count and Taco Bell thanks me for my patronage.

Meal prep is a great solution to this problem. If you give a few hours of your time on the weekend, the solutions for the week will be waiting in your fridge when you walk thru the door. Eating out is one of the biggest drains on a bank account. Meal prep includes buying and cooking in bulk which is one of the cheapest ways to feed a family of 4. (Having a bag of Dino Nuggets on hand never hurt either)
